Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge

In keeping with our fundraising theme to get sponsored for each mile we take for Esme, Aunty Lizzie and Uncle Jonathan plus a group of their friends are walking the Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge on 4th August 2012.

The Yorkshire 3 Peaks Challenge takes in the peaks of Pen-y-ghent, Whernside and Ingleborough, usually in this order, and we expect to complete all 3 in under 12 hours.

These peaks form part of the Pennine range, and encircle the head of the valley of the River Ribble, in the Yorkshire Dales National Park. A distance of 24.5 miles of mainly hill climb and descent.

It’s a big challenge but nothing compared to Esme’s.
